There are two separate services that you need for a functioning web site - a domain and a web hosting plan for it. Any time you type the Internet domain in your web browser, you see the content that is uploaded within the web hosting account, but if that domain address isn't linked to such an account or to an e-mail service, it is parked. Put simply, the Internet domain is registered and you are its owner, but it doesn't have any content of its own. Instead, it can open either a pre-made “Under Construction / For Sale” page from the registrar company, or it may be directed to some other URL of your choice. The advantage of parking a domain is that you can keep it and ensure that nobody else is going to take it. In the meantime, it won't take a slot for a hosted domain address inside your account. You may also park domains if you have a .com, for example, and you register domain addresses with other extensions like .net, .org or country-code ones to direct them to the main web site so as to protect a brand name.

Parked Domains in Shared Hosting

If you purchase a shared hosting plan from us, you'll be able to register as many domains as you would like and park them with a few mouse clicks via your Hepsia hosting CP. If you'd like to forward a domain name, all it takes is to type the URL, save it, and you'll be all set. You can un-park a domain and host it in your account just as easily and our system will do all the needed adjustments - update the domain name servers, create DNS records for it, create a domain folder in the File Manager part of your account, etc. In case you have numerous domains registered through our company, you’ll be able to use a filter to see only the parked or just the hosted ones for simpler management. Taking into consideration that you can park a domain address only with the registrar, you can use this feature only for domains which are registered through us, but not through another company.
